Today, the rector of South Ural State University in the Russian Federation, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Alexander Shestakov visited Osh State University. The guest was received by rector K.G. Kozhobekov. During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two universities and plans for the future were discussed.
A special celebration was held in the Great Assembly Hall of the University, in which members of the Academic Council of the university, heads of structures, teachers, students took part. Given the many years of fruitful work, the rector of the South Ural State University, Professor Alexander Shestakov, for the contribution to the development of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as in the training of scientific and teaching staff, was awarded the title `Honorary Professor of Osh State University`. Professor Alexander Shestakov thanked the leadership of the university, the staff and noted that the comprehensive cooperation of the two universities will contribute to further development. He also made a presentation on the university he leads.
Since 2015, Osh State University and South Ural State University have been fruitfully working in the field of academic mobility. Every year, graduate students of Osh State University majoring in `Information Technology and Systems` as part of the SCO, study at this educational institution for one semester. At today`s meeting, the parties discussed issues of joint education, a double diploma program, the implementation of joint international projects, the organization of internships, student exchanges, advanced training for teachers, etc.
In honor of the honorary professor of Osh State University, a concert program of talents of the educational institution was presented.
The rector of South Ural State University, professor Alexander Shestakov visited Osh State University for two days, held guest lectures for students of the faculties of mathematics and information technology and the physical and technical faculty, got acquainted with the structure of the university, and visited the sights of the city of Osh.
It should be noted that South Ural State University is one of the largest and leading educational institutions in the Russian Federation, including the territory of the Ural Federal District, where bachelors and specialists study in 250 programs, master`s programs - 150, postgraduate studies - 82, advanced training and retraining - for 50 programs.
