KAZAKH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE CENTER MAY OPEN IN OSH STATE UNIVERSITY

Consul of Kazakhstan in Osh M.A. Karibai, Vice Consul D.K. Baiturin arrived
in OshSU on another visit. They were received by the rector K.G.
Kozhobekov. During the meeting, Mukhtar Akhatovich said that he had
appealed to the leadership of the Eurasian National University with a
request to open a center for Kyrgyz language and culture at the university.
At the same time, he announced his decision to award consular scholarships
to two of the best students of the university.
Rector Kudaiberdi Gaparalievich expressed readiness to support the opening
of the Kazakh Language and Culture Center at Osh State University, noting
that efforts will be made to expand cooperation in this area before the
opening of a joint Kyrgyz-Kazakh center. He also thanked Mukhtar Akhatovich
for awarding scholarships to Osh State University students. He said that he
attended the Eurasian National University last fall. He noted that this
will be encouraged.
The meeting was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology and
Journalism N.O. Turganbaev, who also said that the faculty has the
opportunity to open a center, and the idea is supported by the heads of
departments.
