Xavier Le Torrivellec, Regional Attache for Cooperation in Education at the French Embassy in Kazakhstan, visited Osh State University. He explained that the purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with Osh State University, the largest university in Central Asia, to discuss prospects for establishing and developing cooperation with French educational institutions, and the implementation of joint projects.

    The French representative was received by the Director of the Department of International Relations Abdygany Osmоnovich, who spoke about the university and said that OshSU is interested in concluding bilateral cooperation agreements with French universities and developing relations. He added that so far only a memorandum has been signed with the University of Poitiers, and he hopes that in the near future the number of partners will increase.

    In turn, Mr. Xavier said that French scientists will be particularly impressed when they come to Kyrgyzstan, where it is planned to teach not only French, but also many humanities disciplines in French. He signed an agreement with the French Institute for the Study of Central Asia in Bishkek.

    Following the talks, the parties agreed to work on intensifying cooperation in the field of education.
