A delegation led by the Vice-Rector of the University of Missouri, Professor Mary Stegmaier visited OshSU and met with the leadership. Rector K.G. Kozhobekov received the guests and noted the following: - Recently, a delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science visited the states of Washington, D.C., Chicago, Texas, Virginia and others. I have been to several state universities. The students had a great starting experience. We are glad that you have come to our university. In particular, the University of Missouri cooperates in the organization of academic mobility, special courses, joint educational programs, guest lectures, joint implementation of international research projects, etc. We intend to cooperate in various fields. We are ready to accept your suggestions and initiatives.

    One of our main plans is to develop agreements and cooperation with American universities. Our university is one of the 5 universities with a special status and has full autonomy. Therefore, we are working on opening English-speaking groups in different directions.

    In turn, Professor Mary thanked for the warm welcome and said that she was very glad to communicate with the rector of Osh State University, one of the most prestigious universities in Central Asia. She added that with the help of the Center for International Programs, students can learn English and enroll at the University of Missouri, and invited Rector Kudaiberdi Gaparalievich to visit the university where she works. In addition, Professor Mary received answers to the rectors questions about his life, work experience and plans for the future.

    After the official meeting, the delegation presented the students with a presentation about the international programs of the University of Missouri, how to enroll there, and about the study opportunities in the USA.

    OshSU signed a memorandum of cooperation with the university on January 13, 2022.
