A center for the promotion of the Uzbek language and culture has opened in Osh State University

    The official opening ceremony of the Uzbek Language and Culture Center was held at the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology and Journalism. On the Uzbek side, was accompanied by First Deputy Minister of Education and Science K.H. Karimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Kyrgyz Republic H.Mirzakhidov. Rector of Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Navoi Sh.S. Sirozhiddinov and First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz side U.A. Usekov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan M.M. Zhamanbaev, Rector of Osh State University K.G. Kozhobekov, Vice-Rector for External Relations K.Sh. Attokurov, also attended by managers, teachers and students.

    The main tasks of the center, opened jointly with the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature in the framework of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries:

- holding joint conferences, round tables, exhibitions, seminars, etc. In order to develop and strengthen scientific, cultural and educational ties between the two countries, assistance in organizing and conducting;

- holding various events dedicated to traditional Uzbek holidays;

- Organization of the educational process in Uzbek for Kyrgyz citizens;

- ensuring the teaching of literature in the Uzbek language;

- Development of educational and methodological materials on the Uzbek language as a foreign language;

- Popularization and study of culture and history of Uzbekistan;

-providing socio-cultural support to the Uzbek diaspora, etc.

    Ph.D., Associate Professor A.A. Ismanova was appointed to the position of Director of the Center. Recently at Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Navoi agreed to open the center “Kyrgyz language and culture".

    Rector K.G. Kozhobekov noted that the opening of the center at Osh State University is not accidental, since a large number of Uzbek students study at the university, the college trains specialists who will teach in primary classes for Uzbek-speaking schools, adding that the center will serve as a bridge of friendship between the two educational institutions.

    The high-ranking guests who attended the opening of the solemn event noted that this cultural Horde will contribute to the strengthening of socio-humanitarian, cultural ties between the two countries, the development of cooperation between educational institutions, contributing to the strengthening of centuries-old friendship, unity of the fraternal Kyrgyz and Uzbek peoples.

    At the end of the ceremony, accompanied by a small concert program, Rector of Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Navoi, Ph.D., Prof. Shukhrat Sirozhidinov for his contribution to the development of Turkological science and deepening cooperation of educational institutions was awarded the title “Honorary Professor of Osh State University".

    Currently, Osh State University enters into agreements/memoranda with more than 30 educational institutions of Uzbekistan to ensure academic mobility of students, organize visits of teachers, guest lectures, international scientific conferences, etc.
